A TRIBUTE TO MR BASHIR KHAN, LEADER AND MENTOR

Real achievement of life is to contribute into the lives of fellow beings. Only great human beings gifted with impeccable leadership and utter selflessness serve their fellow beings without expecting any reward.

Mr. Bashir Khan was a great example of such great leaders, professionals and above all wonderful human beings. He was one leader who did not budge an inch from his principled stand and had strong faith in his cardinal principles and values of life. I saw him many times standing tall in front of many political pressures. He preferred sacrificing his title and position instead of bowing his head before any unfair and unreasonable political ambitions of those at the helm.

I worked in the Bank of Khyber, Pakistan when he was the Managing Director. He was always there to care for his team, mentor and guide them to become good professionals and humans in future.

I personally learnt a lot of things from him and I truly acknowledge and recognize his leadership and mentorship. I and many like me grew as professionals under the great leadership of late Bashir Khan. I now recall many events and examples that relate to him and his fatherly role. I really feel proud to share many good examples of his mentorship with my children.

I salute his greatness as a leader. He was an institution in himself. We all recognize and commend his stature. He will always be missed. While writing these lines I greatly feel sad but at the same time feel proud that I worked under the leadership of a great man.

May his soul rest in eternal peace and may Almighty Allah grant him the highest rank in heaven (Amen)!
