Self-Development Strategies For Managers

Manager are said to have no time for their self-development. But, it is equally important for Managers to find ways and meants to focus on their development which will eventually help their teams to learn, grow and contribute more in their work.

It is a reality that Managers are burdened with their performance goals, responsibility of their teams, they are answerable to their bosses and stakeholders.

This pressure keeps them busy round the clock, thinking about their on self-care and development becomes a little more challenging. But, living in this real world, managers have to spare time for their self-development, intellectual and mental health. If a manager or leader is not healthy, active, agile and fit, he or she will not be able to manage and lead their teams effectively.

I will recommend five ways for the managers to follow and apply in their daily life to ensure their self-care and self-development.

  1. Keep a positive circle of influence: Your professional and personal circle should be educated, value-driven, avid learner and forward looking. Nurture your families in a way that they become your strength in your personal and professional life. Professional network should be well chosen, qualified, progressive and visionary. Your professional circle will help you grow and create a mark of success. If you are surrounded by mediocres, you will surely become one after sometime.
